About Me

Whatever your experience on the trumpet, I'm excited to help you take your playing to the next level. From basic tone production and efficient use of the breath to fluid technique, beautiful articulation, and learning new repertoire, I'm here to support and guide you. Together, we'll work to increase your joy in playing the instrument and to develop the technical tools you need to fully express yourself as a trumpet player. With 23 years of teaching trumpet at the undergraduate and graduate levels, I'm happy to help you overcome obstacles and make great music.

How I Teach

We'll choose etudes, solo pieces, and technical exercises that are just right for your level of experience, your goals, and your musical tastes. We'll work at the right pace to help you continue improving. I am primarily a classical player with minimal experience at jazz improvisation.
