How Thoven Works for Teachers: Run Music Lessons Simply

I started playing piano at six and later studied at a conservatory in Istanbul before continuing my music studies in the United States. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and teaching eventually became one of the most meaningful parts of that journey. I've always loved sharing my passion for music, especially with children who begin their musical journey at a young age, just as I did.

But as I began teaching more private students, I also started experiencing the same challenges many independent teachers face — last-minute cancellations, chasing down payments, managing schedules with families, and trying to keep everything organized outside of actually teaching.

I loved teaching, but so much of my time was spent dealing with things outside of the lesson itself — coordinating schedules, following up about payments, and handling last-minute changes. It often felt like teachers were expected to manage everything on their own, without tools that truly supported how we run our studios.

When I shared these frustrations with my co-founder, Andres, we started thinking about how music education could work better for teachers. That conversation eventually led us to build Thoven — a platform designed to give independent music teachers the tools they need to manage their studios more easily, stay organized with students and families, and spend more time focusing on what they love most: teaching.
