I'm a violinist originally from Texas with 20 plus years of performance experience. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Music in 2020. I have experience working as a conductor for beginner and intermediate orchestra, private instructor, and Early Childhood Music Educator. Over the years I have learned to work with various age groups, even working with students as young as 3 years old. Through my own journey from a young musician to a teacher I do not solely focus on helping my students reach their musical goals, I also focus on growing them into confident musicians along the way. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and I look forward to the opportunity of working with you.
As a teacher my main goal is to provide lessons that are both fun and informative and to create a safe learning environment for all of my students. I understand that making mistakes is part of the learning process and that every student learns at their own pace. I celebrate every sign of improvement and encourage all questions. To aid my students during their lessons I use visual and auditory aids such as playing by rote, using colored fingering tapes/charts, and clapping/singing through rhythms/melodies. I enjoy helping my students reach their goals, so in addition to working on exercises during our lessons I will also provided daily exercises for students to work on between lessons.
What I love most about teaching is the joy that I get to share with my students when I see the excitement of them reaching a new goal. Through our lessons I often like to reflect on their growth and celebrate how far they've come on their musical journey.
