About Me

esse Mose is a pianist, organist, and dedicated music educator who believes piano lessons should be both excellent and enjoyable. He works with students of all ages to build a strong musical foundation while also encouraging creativity, confidence, and a genuine love for music. Jesse’s teaching style is patient, encouraging, and individualized. He understands that every student learns differently, so lessons are thoughtfully tailored to each person’s age, goals, experience level, and interests. Whether a student is learning the basics for the first time or continuing to develop technique and expression, Jesse strives to make lessons both challenging and rewarding in the best way. As an active performer, Jesse brings real musical experience into the lesson room. In addition to teaching, he performs professionally as a pianist and organist for weddings, events, and church services. His students benefit from learning with a teacher who not only teaches music, but lives it. Jesse’s goal is to help students become well-rounded musicians while creating a positive environment where they feel encouraged to grow, ask questions, and enjoy the process of learning.

How I Teach

My teaching approach is centered on creating a calm, encouraging, and structured learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and challenged in the right ways. I want lessons to feel approachable and enjoyable, while still maintaining clear goals, strong musical standards, and steady progress over time. Students often respond well to the relaxed atmosphere I bring to lessons. I believe students learn best when they feel at ease enough to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow without fear of embarrassment. At the same time, I hold students to meaningful expectations and encourage consistent effort, focus, and pride in their work. I aim to strike a balance between being supportive and rigorous—lessons should feel positive and welcoming, but they should also lead to real musical growth. A big part of my teaching style is positive verbal reinforcement. I want students to leave lessons feeling encouraged, capable, and aware of what they are doing well, while also knowing exactly what to improve next. By combining clear instruction, thoughtful feedback, and a steady sense of encouragement, I work to help students build confidence, discipline, and a genuine enjoyment of music.

My Teaching Philosophy

My teaching approach is rooted in creating a lesson environment that feels both **welcoming and purposeful**. I want students to feel comfortable when they come to lessons—comfortable asking questions, trying new things, and making mistakes without feeling discouraged. I’ve found that students often learn best in an atmosphere that feels calm, positive, and low-pressure, so I work to make lessons feel approachable while still maintaining clear structure and direction. At the same time, I believe a relaxed environment should still come with **high standards and meaningful expectations**. I want students to develop strong habits, careful listening skills, musical understanding, and a sense of pride in their progress. My goal is to strike a balance between being encouraging and being rigorous: lessons should feel enjoyable and supportive, but they should also lead to real growth over time. A major part of my teaching style is **positive verbal reinforcement**. I want students to know what they are doing well, to feel recognized for their effort, and to leave each lesson with a sense of momentum and confidence. I try to give feedback in a way that is clear, constructive, and motivating, so students understand both their strengths and the next steps in their development. Ultimately, I want students to feel that piano lessons are a place where they can grow as musicians without unnecessary pressure—where they are challenged, supported, and encouraged to keep improving. My hope is that students leave lessons not only with stronger musical skills, but also with greater confidence, discipline, and enjoyment of the learning process.
