About Me

I am a musician, bandleader, arranger, songwriter, singer, and above all an impassioned lover of beautiful music! I have been playing and singing for over 20 years, and directed vocal/acapella groups for more than 10. I am passionate about helping others unlock the potential in their voices, and develop the skills to strive for a lifetime of improvement. I attended Berklee College of Music, and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (Concentrations in Acoustics/Electronics and Teaching Contemporary Voice). I have been teaching Voice Lessons for 6 years, both virtually and in-person. Aside from teaching, I am a passionate dancer, and inspired performance artist. I am a runner, mountain biker, nature-explorer, and competitive recreational athlete. I believe all the things in which we find joy are tied into one another, and view both life and my performance art much in the same vein. Most of all, I like to have fun! Looking forward to helping you discover your voice!

How I Teach

I like to find what clicks with each student. I treat our lessons as hacking into how someone learns, which poses an exciting challenge for the both of us! I love learning about how humans learn, so I'll happily tackle this head-on. I like to help students build healthy and effective habits, and develop repetitions that work and target the right roadblock. With more than 10 years of experience helping singers do this in solo and harmony settings, I've developed a sixth sense for how someone's individual voice and inner musician will respond. My experience and musical love is rooted in the Great American Songbook and 20th Century Popular Song. I encourage students to explore and practice music they already love! I also encourage adding the aforementioned classics to one's repertoire, as it emphasizes strong diction and presence of one's unique voice. Lessons are song-focused, and we will cover various vocal techniques and practices through the process of developing one's performance of these songs. I've worked with singers competing on American Idol, as well as those singing in front of another person for the first time. I've taught music to young babies as well as multiple students into their 60s and 70s. I will meet you wherever you are, and we'll turn voice lessons into an exciting time of discovery and self-expression!
