Alessandro Ayer is a Colombian American music producer/songwriter, as well as a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, drums, bass). He began piano lessons at the age of 8 and guitar lessons at the age of 12. He has also taken several music theory courses in college while attaining a Bachelors degree at UC Irvine, in addition to voice training and advanced piano classes. He began writing songs at the age of 16, and has been producing music since 2007 in vibrant fashion ever since he purchased a MacBook and started learning GarageBand. He would soon after begin mastering Logic Pro, taking his production skills to another level. In the fall of 2011, he entered a recording arts degree program at the Los Angeles Film School where he sparked the interest of a MIDI instructor who had done production/mixing work for the likes of Dev and The Cateracs. They then began working on a few remixes together for promo use, after which he would gain a steady following in the EDM realm. In 2018, he spent 6 months producing and performing keyboards for alternative R&B group TwoLips while playing several shows at prominent Los Angeles venues such as The Echo and The Hi Hat. He wrote and released music for a band he created back in 2020 called E.T. Man, mixing such styles as electronic rock and synthwave. He is now working on a new "synth-grunge" project called Say Hello To Heaven. He is also fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
I spent about a year working for a company called Traveling Music Lessons, and then I got hired by Guitar Center where I've been teaching a variety of instruments for over 2 years now. My teaching approach consists of using curriculum from the store, songbooks, and basic theory books. I like to start with a basic sheet of open chords or a music notation sheet, and then we can learn songs of interest while I throw in bits of basic music theory along the way.
My teaching philosophy is you got to have fun with music while learning at the same time! I can help guitarists build up from first learning basic chords while playing simple songs and then later to one day be able to play lead guitar to any song via scales, learning improvisation skills, and other basic theory tips. As a pianist, I can help students learn to sight read better while also learning music theory along the way. As a producer using Logic Pro X, I can teach students everything from basic production to mixing to mastering.
