About Me

Hello, welcome to my studio! My name is Matthew Wiest and I am a cellist based in the Indianapolis area. I recently graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a Master’s degree in cello performance and literature. Teaching cello has been a strong passion of mine for many years and brings me unlimited joy. I am a student-centric instructor with great understanding and patience in the learning process. I believe that any student with the excitement to learn can succeed.

How I Teach

I pride myself in helping students find their unique voice through which they can express themselves and understand the process of learning new skills and techniques.

Testimonial

"Matthew has been a wonderful teacher for my son. His ability to connect with my teenager and explain things using examples my son can relate to has been a driving force in both my son’s improvement and desire to keep playing cello. I can tell Matthew really cares about and is invested in my son’s progress and continued learning. Also, the convenience and flexibility of online lessons are welcome when you have a busy family schedule."
