Hi, I'm Dr. Bailey Ehrgott, a guitarist, educator, and lifelong music enthusiast dedicated to helping students reach their musical goals with confidence and creativity. I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor's degree from Berklee College of Music. Over the past decade, I've taught students of all ages and experience levels through private lessons, university classrooms, workshops, ensembles, and online instruction. My students have gone on to study at prestigious institutions including Berklee College of Music, University of North Texas, Columbia Basin College, Northern Colorado University, Brigham Young University, and Folsom Lake College, while others have earned spots in selective programs such as the Monterey Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo, Berklee Five Week, and the UNT Jazz Combo Workshop. I have also been recognized nationally as the 2026 DownBeat Blues/Pop/Rock Soloist Winner and serve as a PRS Guitars Pulse Artist.
Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time, learning your favorite songs, developing improvisation skills, preparing for auditions, or pursuing advanced jazz studies, I create personalized lessons designed around your goals, interests, and learning style. My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can succeed when they feel supported, challenged, and inspired. I teach guitar primarliy, improvisation, music theory, ear training, songwriting, and beginner piano, bass, ukulele, and I welcome students from around the world.
Teaching Philosophy – Bailey Ehrgott Music has always been so intriguing to me sonically, melodically, rhythmically, and creatively. Learning the technical and fundamental elements all part of the process, although, I enjoy putting emphasis on the creative parts of teaching as those are the sacred areas that are meant to be surfaced in all of us. Creativity allows us to explore and ultimately find our own sound/voice in the musical space. A professor of mine once told me, “Bailey, when I listen to someone improvise I believe it’s their soul speaking to us! It’s my job as your instructor to help you speak musically. There will come a time when it will be your job to pass that on to your students, let music speak for our souls.” Discovering what type of music makes my students tick is where I put my emphasis on teaching. Learning the basic foundations and building blocks on the fretboard are essential, however when a student is fully emerged into the type of music they love, it starts to develop into a passion with their instrument. Putting attention on learning songs they enjoy is one of the best ways to go about learning how to play.
