Cello Teacher
I'm a recent Juilliard cellist grad who comes from a family of string players and teachers. I started helping my mother's Suzuki violin students when I was around 10, and have been teaching/mentoring ever since. I love getting to know new people and recently moved to Austin, TX from Manhattan to go on an adventure!
My philosophy is that the benefits of studying music are accessible to everyone at every level. Learning to play a musical instrument, at its best, can encourage brain flexibility/adaptability, increase problem solving and critical thinking skills, heighten self-awareness (which in turn can help with self-confidence and self-assurance), boost empathy and listening skills, and force humility. All of these traits are what help create a more harmonious human being - what's not to like? A good teacher immerses herself in her student's mind (every student learns differently) and the joint exploration never fails to fascinate me; it's always rewarding!
