Robbie Fureby

I'm very passionate about music and drums and love teaching them! I've taught hundreds of students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. I have an AA degree in Drum Set Performance from the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California and studied with many notable teachers including Tommy Igoe, John Xepoleas, Fred Dinkins, and Rob Carson.

Influenced by my family, my passion for drumming took off at age 8 with a practice pad and sticks, guided by my grandma's teachings. By age 13, I dove into the drum set, feeling a deep connection to rhythm and music. Over 19 years of drumming, I have earned an Associate of Arts in Music Performance from Musicians Institute in Hollywood and studied with renowned drummers like Tommy Igoe, John Xepoleas Rob Carson and Fred Dinkins. I've also played and recorded with various original and cover bands covering styles from rock, blues, reggae, funk, jazz, R&B and punk. Since starting my teaching journey at School of Rock in 2016, I've worked with countless students of all ages and skill levels. I've helped many join bands and prepared star students for music careers. My approach blends the best of what I've learned from legendary teachers, focusing on what works. I teach everyone from beginners to professionals with a proven, carefully thought out method. Using a holistic approach that covers rudiments, technique, reading, timekeeping, and more students have more clarity, get better faster and as a result - have more fun! Through teaching, I share my passion for drums and the joy music brings to our lives. Drum power!
