Molly Snodgrass, from Austin, Texas, is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School. She is currently studying at Northwestern University where she will receive her Masters of Music degree in Voice & Opera in June 2026. Snodgrass has been studying voice privately for thirteen years. She has studied classical and musical theatre music and participated in many prestigious ensembles and programs such as Houston Grand Opera's Young Artist Vocal Academy, Prague Summer Nights, Classic Lyric Arts, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Washington National Opera - Opera Institute, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Schmidt Vocal Institute, KidsActing Studio and ArtsBridge. This season, Snodgrass will sing “Magda” in Puccini’s La Rondine and cover “Mrs. Zegner/’Ma’”, in Proving Up by Missy Mazzoli with Northwestern University Opera Theater. Since her time at Juilliard, Snodgrass has performed as "Hanna Glawari" in Lehar's Die Lustige Witwe and “Fortuna” in Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea, both with Northwestern University Opera Theater. Snodgrass performed many roles at Juilliard including covering "La Sorella Infermiera" in Puccini's Suor Angelica, "2nd Cameriera" in Menotti's Amelia al ballo, "La Madre di Mariuccia" in Nino Rota's I Due Timidi, and "Clerio" in Cavalli's Erismena.
As a voice teacher, I focus on meeting students where they are and giving them the tools they need to progress with clarity and confidence. Every singer comes in with different experiences, goals, and challenges, and I shape my approach to support their individual path rather than expecting one method to work for everyone. My teaching style is straightforward, respectful, and constructive. I believe that clear communication and practical feedback help students build solid technique and musical awareness without feeling overwhelmed. Lessons are collaborative, and I encourage students to ask questions, try new ideas, and develop an understanding of how their own instrument works. I work with singers of many backgrounds, but I have a particular specialty in college audition preparation for classical and musical theatre students. I guide singers through repertoire selection, vocal and artistic preparation, and the logistical demands of the audition process so they walk in with a strong, polished, and authentic presentation. Above all, I aim to create a lesson environment that is organized, supportive, and focused on tangible growth. My goal is for students to leave each session with a clear sense of what they accomplished and where they’re headed next, developing not only stronger technique but also confidence in their own artistic identity.
My teaching approach centers on meeting each student where they are and helping them grow with confidence, clarity, and purpose. I believe every singer is unique, so lessons are tailored to each student’s experience, goals, and learning style rather than following a one-size-fits-all method. Alongside healthy vocal technique, I integrate music theory in a practical, accessible way so students understand how music works and can apply that knowledge directly to their singing. Through clear communication, constructive feedback, and a supportive lesson environment, I help students build strong musical foundations, self-assurance, and artistic independence. Whether a student is developing fundamental skills or preparing for college auditions in classical or musical theatre, my goal is for them to leave each lesson feeling encouraged, accomplished, and excited about their progress.
