Drums Teacher
My teaching style is all about guiding students through the fundamentals in a practical, approachable way and then helping them turn those basics into their own sound. In every lesson, we focus on clear technique, relaxed posture, and efficient movement so you can get the most out of the drum kit with the least amount of effort—and absolutely no tension. I clearly break things down so every concept feels doable and useful right away.
I adapt to different students by meeting them exactly where they are and adjusting my approach to match how they learn best. Some students need lots of hands-on demonstration, others thrive with step-by-step structure, and some learn fastest by experimenting—so I shape each lesson around what keeps them engaged, confident, and progressing.
My teaching style is rooted in technique and fundamentals, because I believe those are what truly open the door to creativity and top notch performance in any musical setting. When the basics are strong, the instrument stops feeling limiting and starts feeling honest. The goal isn’t just to play exercises well—it’s to gain the tools needed to learn any song, in any style, and approach it with confidence and clarity. I give equal priority to feel, time, confidence, curiosity, discipline, and joy. None of those exist in isolation. Solid technique supports good time. Good time builds confidence. Confidence invites curiosity. And when all of that comes together, playing becomes enjoyable and expressive instead of stressful or forced. When a student struggles, we don’t rush or push through it. We step back. We dissect the phrase, reduce it to its bare skeleton, and rebuild it one element at a time. More often than not, the issue isn’t musical—it’s technical. In those moments, we zoom in on the underlying mechanics and refine them carefully. The intention isn’t just to solve the problem in front of us, but to fix the root cause so it doesn’t keep resurfacing in different forms later on. I take a long-term approach to teaching. Technique isn’t treated as a set of rules, but as a foundation that protects the body, improves control, and gives the player freedom rather than restriction. When something is addressed, it’s addressed thoroughly, with the aim of setting the student up for lasting progress rather than quick fixes. I teach drums because I’m deeply passionate about the instrument, and because I believe the art form deserves to be passed down the right way. Drumming has a lineage, and I take responsibility in carrying that forward—especially for younger generations—by teaching with care, patience, and respect for both the music and the process.
